Annette, Lara, Pam, & Patti

If “handcrafted” makes you think about the potholders your kids brought home from camp and the sweater knit by your cousin that’s shoved in the depths of your closet, it’s time to think again.

Lavender and Sage is selling a curated line of artisanal wares that provides support to struggling communities while filling your home and your life with, yes, handcrafted goods that you will love to have and to give.

We are four New Jersey moms with a common thread of service to our communities. And while we have run the gamut of powerhouse positions for our local schools and fundraising organizations, we wanted to do even more.

We pooled together our diverse backgrounds--Patti comes from retail; Annette was a CPA; Pam worked on Wall Street; and Lara at a law firm, to build a company that respects people.

Lavender and Sage was born.

Here’s how it works: we find products that you will feel good about buying. Everything from jewelry and scarves; items for your kitchen and bath; handbags; teacher gifts; candles; self-care treats; stationery; you name it.

Feel good because the artists who make our products in many cases have no source of income other than selling their wares. Often, they are food-challenged and live in difficult quarters, whether in the US or abroad. They are paid a fair wage to create their work. We buy it either directly from them, or from a supplier who abides by the Fair Trade Agreement

When we created our company, one of the main goals was to give back to the people in these communities. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can impact the world of our artisans and their families.

We believe in fair wages, dignified work, and sustainable practices.

You will love buying from this line of beautiful products because your purchase will enrich the lives of women and their families. The fact that you will get compliments galore and feel like a rockstar wearing, using, or gifting these items is really just an added bonus.

The four of us have always shared our favorite things with each other and with our families and friends. It was a natural progression to couple this love of sharing with our desire to help.

So have a look through our items for sale. Read some of the stories about our craftsmen. Then buy something from Peru. Or Nepal. Or Tanzania. Or something created right here at home. Wherever your purchase originated, it’s a win/win. You walk away with a really cool, unusual object you’ll be thrilled to own or gift, and an artist somewhere will be empowered. Can’t beat that.
